Hello everyone!
Matt and I just got back from a short little getaway, which was just what we needed to relax over the weekend before I return to my last semester of graduate school. My parents visited New Hope, a cute little town in Pennsylvania last fall and stayed at The Inn at Bowman’s Hill. They enjoyed it so much, that they bought Matt and I a gift certificate to stay there too. When you arrive, there is a gate that needs to be opened for you to drive through. The Inn has four rooms, and four suites – all the beds are king-size, the rooms have fireplaces, and heated 2-person whirlpool tubs with heated towel racks. It was so relaxing!
This cute little town had tons of shops and restaurants to try. Our two favorite places we ate at were Nektar for lunch and Logan Inn for dinner – both were excellent and the food was top notch! Nektar specializes in Tappas (dishes bigger than appetizers, but smaller than entrees), Fromage (cheese), and Charcuterie (meats). The cheese was so delicious and our favorites were the Fontina from Italy and the El Trigal Monchego from Spain! If you like meat, Logan Inn is the place to go to, Matt ordered the Filet Mignon and it was seasoned and cooked perfectly – tender on the inside and crispy on the outside. I had Pork Osso Bucco and the arborio rice with it was out of this world. We also shared Crispy Artichoke Hearts which were delicious! I apologize for the quality on some of these pictures, the lighting was poor for taking pictures!

Besides eating & shopping in the town, we also visited Fonthill Castle in Doylestown, PA, which was built between 1908-1912. I only have a picture of the outside because pictures were not allowed to be taken inside, but you may be able to see pictures on their website, which I linked above.
If we go back, I want to stay again in the spring or early summer! That way, the weather is warm and their outdoor pool is open. If you want to snuggle up by the fireplace and relax indoors when its cold out, this is also the place for you! No matter which season, this place will sure be fun and entertaining!
