I wear lipstick everyday and I’m always re-applying, which is why it is so important that the liquid lipstick I wear can be easily buildable. My current favorite liquid lipstick is Tartiest Quick Dry Matte Lip Paint in the shade Festival. It is a beautiful nude mauve and pairs perfectly with Kylie Cosmetics KoKo K Lipliner. In this post I highlight my favorite and least favorite liquid lipsticks.
Christian Dior Rouge Dior Liquid
I always gravitate towards the nude / pink shades because of my fair skin. I look for liquid lipsticks that are moisturizing and quick drying. Especially in winter, I bite my lips a lot and with the cold weather, they get very chapped, it’s important to moisturize your lips at night. I use Vaseline before bed, which I keep on my nightstand so I don’t forget. The Christian Dior Liquid Lip is so moisturizing and soft when applying on your lips, it’s such a gorgeous dark pink.
Kylie Liquid Lipsticks
I love the colors of Kylie’s line of Liquid Lipsticks but they are soooo drying and difficult to come off of your lips. The colors look stunning in the tube but then sometimes look different on your actual lip. My favorite has to be Kristen because the red is so beautiful. I don’t usually wear red so when I come across a pretty red, I like to try it out. Also, to note, these liquid lipsticks are not buildable at all! When you try to add more on, it just looks cakey and can smear on your lips.
Huda Beauty Liquid Mattes
For Christmas, I got the Lip Contour Set featuring Trendsetter (brown nude) & Bombshell (subtle pinkish nude). It also came with a beautiful lipliner which I now use everyday. I like how these liquid lipsticks apply on my lips. I especially like Bombshell because Trendsetter can be a little too dark for me. They (including the lip pencil) apply smooth, does not feel sticky, & does not try out my lips.
Tarteist Quick Dry Matte Lip Paint
I can’t say enough good things about these liquid lipsticks – I should get one in every shade. Quick drying, highly pigmented, one coat application, and you’re done. Because of the quick dry featuring, they aren’t creamy feeling but your lips feel healthy while it is on your lips. Also, there’s no transfer whatsoever – you can drink a cup of coffee, a bottle of water, and eat breakfast, and the lipstick will stay on. Highly recommend!
Burberry Liquid Lip Velvet
I give 5 stars for the packaging on this liquid lipstick! The frosted tube is elegant and the Burberry check pattern is on the handle. I swatched Fawn 05 in Sephora and immediately dropped the last box in my cart. When applying, it glides on my lips, they’re like a creamy mousse texture. There is slight transferring but the pigment still stays on your lips. They’re comfortable, very light weight, & moisturizing.
Marc Jacobs Le Marc Liquid Lip Crème
I received a Marc Jacobs Lip Creme in Yours to Try and Lipliner as a PR package from Influenster and fell in love with the quality of lipstick. I used the lipliner so much that it broke too, extremely creamy and non-drying! The color I was sent didn’t go so well with my skin tone but I would definitely purchase another shade in the future. The color is easily buildable and will not flake off (which has happened with the Kylie ones).
Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick
When these first came out, I had to have them. I wanted one in every color and purchased four. Ashton, Stripped, Kathryn, and Dusty Rose. I liked the brush applicator on these lipsticks but they do not stay on for very long. Sometimes the color bleeds onto the corners of your lips which looks bad. I have found I need to use concealer to correct this and then the color will stay put for the day.
